Pronoun adalah kata yang digunakan sebagai kata ganti orang. Pronoun digunakan agar lebih mudah dalam menyebut seseorang tanpa harus mengulang-ngulang nama mereka.
Pronoun memiliki 3 kategori.
1. Personal pronoun
Personal pronoun merupakan kata ganti yang umum kita gunakan untuk menyebut orang pertama, kedua, atau ketiga.

Contoh diatas merupakan pronoun yang digunakan Sebagai subject. Mayoritas personal pronoun akan berubah bentuk jika digunakan sebagai subject.

2. Possessive Pronoun
Possessive pronoun adalah kata ganti yang menyebutkan kepemilikan suatu benda. Ada dua cara menggunakan possessive pronoun. Setiap cara memiliki bentuk yang berbeda
Cara yang pertama adalah digunakan bersama noun sehingga menjadi

her | There is money inside of his bag. |

Yang kedua adalah mengganti determiner + noun dengan possessive pronoun. Untuk lebih mudahnya, perhatikan tabel berikut.

Contoh :
mine | I like your flowers. Do you like /mine/? (object = my flowers) |
yours | My flowers are dying. /Yours/ are lovely. (subject = Your flowers) |
hers | John found his passport but Mary couldn't find /hers/. (object = her passport) |
his | I don't like this family's garden but I like /his/. (object = your garden) |
ours | Your photos are good. /Ours/ are terrible. (subject = Our photos) |
theirs | These aren't John and Mary's children. /Theirs/ have black hair. (subject = Their) |
3. Reflexive Pronoun
Reflexive pronoun merupakan kata ganti orang digunakan jika Subject dan Object pada kalimat merujuk pada orang yang sama.

ourselves | We don’t have to go out; we can fix dinner ourselves. |
themselves | The actors saved the local theatre money by making costumes themselves. |
