Countable Noun
Countable noun adalah noun yang bisa “dihitung” jumlahnya. Umumnya noun yang memiliki bentuk singular dan plural adalah noun yang countable.
book(s), hotel(s), boat(s), day(s), job(s), mile(s), piece(s), problem(s), dream(s).
Uncountable Noun
Sedangkan uncountable noun tidak dapat dihitung, seperti : water, sugar, salt, money, music, electricity, happiness, excitement. Uncountable nouns selalu berbentuk singular, oleh karena itu akan selalu dipasangkan dengan auxiliary verb, to be, dan pronoun singular.
Adjective quantifier seperti some, a/an, the, many, dan sebagainya umumnya bisa dipasangkan dengan noun. Namun beberapa jenis quantifier hanya bisa dipasangkan untuk countable atau uncountable saja.

Expressing Uncountable Nouns Quantity
Meskipun uncountable nouns “tidak bisa dihitung”, namun ada cara untuk menunjukkan kuantitas atau jumlah.
